Sex sells, go buy some

Is anyone else annoyed with the new milk commercial? Well, it isn't that new anymore. But when a product like milk has to resort to sexy women strutting around in farmer costumes, basically saying that milk is as good as sex you better go buy some. I don't know maybe I just get mad at the commercial because it is also saying that we should throw cows into tiny stalls and fill them full of hormones to product more milk for a greedy consumer that would buy anything that had some type of sex appeal. But that said I still drink milk, yes, I am a big hypocrite. I hope to try it when I move to Regina if I am up to it. Either way these products own us because of this weakness, when we give into sex appeal we are saying we aren't strong enough to resist the temptation. But most people can't resist temptation, that is why our society is the way it is. Also smokes suck, like in that other commercial... boy, I watch too much TV.

I don't think I can be comfortable with a job, I always find a mentallity that I hate about it. For example, I hated T & C for a number of reasons, but I didn't like tat fact that I was helping transport meat for people to enjoy. It is true that the meat is already dead and I couldn't have done anything to save that animal, but I still didn't like it. At the Gasbar, I hate how I am selling smokes so people can go kill theirselves slowly, and most likely more painfully. Yes, smokes do have a positive side in some ways, but I don't believe they out weigh the bad. The Source, I am tempting people to buy stuff that they don't need, but this type of nitpicking won't get me far in this world. Seeing that as humans we desire to be tempted into doing wrong, but that doesn't mean we need to continue being played with by what the media tells us we need.

I Would like to play a Game with you.

I believe I have seen enough Saw 2 movie reviews around so I'll try not to go into the movie that much. I watched it with Steve last night, he had already seen it, but he didn't seem to mind watching it for a second time, a movie like this it sometimes helps. I liked it a lot more then the first one but, like Steve mentioned to me, it was the more low budge of the two of course (around 10 thousand?).

The only way to cheat death, according to the movie, is to create a legacy that will live forever, that is immortality. I think Jigsaw proved his point, he tried to force others to be greatful for what they have. At least what they should have, which is a survival instinct. An instinct we, as an "organized" race, have forgotten. I give it a perfect 10 out of 10.

Although I loved the movie, I hated how I lost valuble sleep tossing in bed. I just thought of some trap from the movie and it would make me toss, I did that for at least an hour at 4 o'clock in the morning before my 7 o'clock gas bar shift. It was a boring shift, but it was even harder to stay awake his time.

Ocean's 11

(and maybe 12 might be mentioned, that is if it's lucky)

I am sure everyone has seen this movie on their fancy high tech satellites, maybe even 3 times. But until my parents move into the new generation, which isn't that new anymore. Or when I move out, I will have to rent movies at the best movie rental place in town. Carrying on with the review, another great movie with George Clooney as Danny Ocean. But this time he is robbing Casinos instead of fighting the undead. The biggest casino robbery ever to be exact. I could not stop watching it, I was almost late for work, that's how captivated I was in this movie. I give it a 9 out of 10. Ocean's 12 was mostly the same, but most of the work was done behind the scenes. Less action and less cunning then the original. I give it a 6.5 out of 10.

From Dusk Till Dawn

I started this movie last night, but my couch was too comfortable so I feel asleep on it. Now, today I watched the whole movie. Robert Rodriguez was the director and like most of his films Quentin Tarantino has some kind of role in it. The story follows two brothers that escaped from prison. The brothers, Seth played by George Clooney and Richie played by Quentin Tarantino, set up a deal with Carlos to met in Mexico at the Titty Twister bar to do business. All hell brakes lose in the bas when night comes, it turns out everyone is a vampire. So, like any of Robert's films there is much gun fighting, and explosions to follow. I have to point out that Quentin does an amazing job of being George's creepy brother. Then again I don't think he had to act that much, he seems creepy all the time. I give this movie a 9 out of 10

Money, our curse

Laterly I have been throwing around money like crazy. (see Future in the making today) But money, at this stage, shouldn't be used for the next game I catch in my sight or that PSP that I have been rambling about for who knows how long, it should be a NEED instead of a want. I was just looking at phones, found one called the W600 walkman phone. It's basically a MP3 plus camera phone which got me thinking, I have a camera and I rarely listen to music so why do I NEED this phone? Even an organizer phone, I thought it would be cool to plan out my day and stick to a orderly schedule. But I usually stick to a schedule even if it isn't laid out on paper or digital font. I think for now, I will just stick to what I already have, my basic phone from delivering pizza.

Sunday, someone walks into the gas bar *ouch*. No, he comes in to buy a pack of number 7 KS smokes. These smokes cost 9.35 with tax, after telling him this he empties his pockets and dishes out 9.40 in DIMES! Anyways, after recounting the change, the man says "Only 2 days till my pay cheque! I had to steal this from my boy's piggy bank." Folks, if your desperate enough to steal from your own kid, just to buy your darn cigs, you need to quit, or at least try. I know it's hard to quit habbits like that, I still have a urge to buy too many games at one time.

Challenge!

YAY, a new section, those other ones kind of bottomed out, or fell a sleep trying to watch..From Dusk till Dawn being one. Alright, this is my first challenge, it's really just for me to stop being an idiot with my money, but anyone can join in. For one month, starting today, I won't buy anymore games. Hmm lacks substance, how about anything that would be new to my house. So, no more DVDs or games, or anything stupid to spend my money on. I will still rent movies from the Movie Factory though.

The Great Escape

So, I watched this with my family on Saturday night, and I thought by the end it was pretty dragged out. The movie is based on a book by Paul Brickhill, who wrote it after escaping from prisoner of war camp. Paul was the brains of the operation, they were commanded to keep as many German soldiers busy at the time of D-day. The bonus documentary says it was around 1 million German soldiers that they successfully deverted from the D-day operation. 76 people managed to escape the camp, later 61 were recaptured, and 50 were shot. This film was dedicated to their deaths. It was a great movie, the end seemed to drag on a bit, I give it a 8 out of 10.

mmm printer, copier, scanner

So, I worked at 8:30 this morning, off to a good start for this week. I looked at my schedule to find out I worked Monday, Tuesday at 12-5 and a 4 hour shift on Saturday. In total the week was 19 and a half hours (plus 8 hour shift at The Source). But it might be because he is trying to save a bit of money. I think the start of the year might have been rough for his wallet, so he started to work some of the hours himself. Anyways, that's my theory, I was going to complain about it when he asked me to basically run The Source for the week, giving me a total of around 36 hours. So, needless to say I was happy with the added hours.

I finally got off my butt and installed my PCS, all I need to do is find that printer cable I bought oh so long ago.

WAR, hu what is it good for? Absolutely nothin'

Alright, the war has started, and I am stuck in the middle. The dark side, Dave, wants me to join him. (He is only the dark side because he is Chilean and he gave me that coo' Darth Vadar penny bank... and plus the dark side is so much better.) But only the other hand Luke and Han and maybe Chewie, Steve being the happy wookie, want me to join their not so dark and errie side. Well, I have decided to join neither of your sides because war, even joke war results in bitter hatred, hateful glares and sore eyes. So... oh god, what am I saying, I sound like a 90's mother just finding out that her son's video game has mild violence in it. Because everybody who has played a video game is totally going to go out and find a car, kill a cop, take his gun and shoot everyone in the area. Too much?

Meh, I am still not joining anyone's side still, I prefer sitting on the sidelines and picking off who ever I feel like. When both of your forces are weakened I will nuke you all and claim victory! HAHA...with my pittiful 19 posts...that is including this one. I would promise to update more often, but I know I would just disappoint my loyal fans.

In other news, besides the constant bombardment around my blog, I have 3 holes in my front lawn because some people can't aim their bombs right. News! right, my cat has been recovering from his sprained ankle. He is now walking around on it, but you can still tell he favours it. Also, I have planned on buying a GPS for a few weeks now. I believe I will go all out on this one and get one that has a expansion slot for a small memory card. I believe it will come to around 400 bucks, so I might wait on it for a bit till I can find a good deal on it.

P.S. Check out my painting hobby blog here

Future in the making, today!

Alright, if I have my facts straight, this fall I should be going to the U of R. I have decided to get a bachelor honour degree in biology. This might take alot of work and effort. I hope I am up to the challenge of school life yet again. Sorry Pilon I won't be going to sound school with ya.

In other shocking news, my cat has been limping around for 2 days now. At first it was a small limp you know trying not to use it, but now he isn't even walking on it. Well, he is taking it pretty easy on himself, he has been lying beside the back door
for an easy exit. I hope he gets better soon.

I have decided to stop spending my money on so many pointless worldly needs. As that old saying goes, it's not what you have but what you give that counts. I was spending about 50 to 70 bucks on junk like movies and games that I would rarely play.
So, enough stupid spending, but I would like to point out that I'm going to look for a solid GPS. This, unlike wasting my money on games and such will actually get me out of the house to explore my environment like I away wanted to do. I know my brother has a decent one. It was around 250 for a bit of colour and more detailed maps, but he was telling me that he wishes he would have got a step up from his current one. This was the site I was looking at.
